HAUPPAUGE, NEW YORK –Island Federal Credit Union (Island Federal), one of Long Island’s leading credit unions, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Massapequa branch with a ribbon-cutting celebration at the branch on Wednesday, October 18th. The event was well attended by local government officials, chamber representatives, Island Federal executives, and members of the Massapequa Fire Department and Island Members from the community.
“It was important for Island to have a branch in Massapequa as it is the quintessential Long Island community,” said Bret W. Sears, President/CEO, Island Federal. He continued,. “When we first opened this branch a decade ago, the Massapequa fire department and chamber members were here to welcome us. It’s great to see everyone again as we commemorate 10 years at the same location.”
Branch Manager Anabel Rodriguez added, “This celebration is a great opportunity for us to thank the greater Massapequa community who have welcomed us so warmly. All of us at the Massapequa branch have enjoyed participating in the many local events, chamber activities, and charity efforts that make this area so special. We’re proud that many of them are now Members here.”
Also on hand were representatives of Long Island Cares to thank Island Federal for its ongoing support of Long Island Cares, including the Island Federal Fall Food Drive that runs now through November 20th.
